With everything heated up in the Middle East, it does not look like we'll be getting much relief from high gasoline prices. Remember that a well-maintained car is your best bet to minimize gas usage. Consider the following:

• Tire Pressure - This is the easiest adjustment to reduce road friction and improve your gas mileage. All cars serviced at Big Bend Auto Center have the tire pressure set to the manufacturer's recommended level. You don't have to wait until you need service, though. Stop in any time and we will check and adjust your tire pressure - NO CHARGE.
  
• Brake & Alignment Services - These are also friction-related services that will improve your gas mileage. If your brakes are catching and rubbing you might not notice it, but your gas tank will. Similarly, if your alignment is off, the car needs to work harder to go straight down the road. Not only will your car run better with good brakes and correct alignment, but you will be safer too!
  
• Oil Changes - Clean oil lubricates better than dirty oil. Make sure that you get your oil changed regularly. Talk to us about the possibility of synthetic oil for the summer. Synthetic oil with the same viscosity as regular mineral-based oil can further reduce engine friction for overall better summer or year-round performance.
  
• Fuel Injection Cleaning - If your car has more than 40,000 miles, it could benefit from a fuel injection cleaning for better perfomance.
  
• Tune-Ups - There are a variety of parts that can become clogged or worn, taxing your engine performance. Repairs made during a tune-up will always improve your car's performance and reduce your gasoline usage.
